ABOUT CIGARS
HOW DO I SELECT A CIGAR?
Select a size and shape that feels comfortable to you. The length of time you wish to smoke will dictate how large of a cigar to purchase.
Avoid very thin shapes, as they tend to draw hard. We recommend mild cigars fro new cigar smokers, after that let your pleasure be your guide.
Please keep in mind that hand made cigars burn much slower and deliver much more flavor than less expensive machine made cigar.
WHAT IS THE CORRECT WAY TO LIGHT A CIGAR?
If you use a match, let the supher burn off before you light up. Keep the flame 1/2" from the end of the cigar and puff slowly as you slowly rotate the cigar allowing the heat to evenly ignite the tobacco.
*Note: Please refrain from licking you cigar!
WHAT IS THE CORRECT METHOD TO CUT A CIGAR?
Position your cutter so that you make an opening approximately 1/4" in diameter. You should not cut past the end cap of the cigar as this may cause the wrapper to unravel.
Cigar pluggers (bullit cutters) make a neat opening but require that you cut more slowly and carefully. If you hurry you may split the head.
A "V" cutter is OK, but ithey are generally intended for short filler cigars.
WHAT TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SHOULD CIGARS BE MAINTAINED AT?
Ideally 69 deg F and 73% humidity is best. A 5 point variation will still maintain your cigars quite well.
IF I DON'T HAVE A HUMIDOR, WHERE SHOULD I KEEP MY CIGARS?
Find a cool moist spot in your home and place your cigars in a zip lock bag. Placing your cigars under the vanity in the bathroom works very well.
*Note: Never keep your cigars in a refrigerator.
