ABOUT PIPES
HOW DO I SELECT A PIPE?
| First decide on what size you want. |
| Small pipes smoke hotter. Large pipes are cooler smoking, but are heavier to hold in your teeth. |
HOW DO I LOAD MY PIPE?
| Load your bowl with four to five pinches (layers) of tobacco. |
| Dont pack your first pinch. |
| As you add pinches, progressively pack each pinch a little firmer as you fill the pipe. |
HOW DO I LIGHT MY PIPE?
| Use a wooden match or butane lighter. |
| Light the entire surface completely and then tamp out the tobacco, now relight. |
| Lighting twice ensures an even burn. |
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO BREAK-IN A NEW PIPE?
| A new pipe needs to be broken in for maximum smoking pleasure. |
| Fill your bowl only halfway for the first five or six smokes. It is important to burn the tobacco all of the way to the bottom. Once carbon deposits have built up on the bottom of the bowl, begin smoking full loads. Allow the carbon crust to build up to the thickness of a nickel. |
| *Note: Always keep your pipe clean and dry. Use plenty of pipe cleaners. |
